help needed trying to locate stanley hall macdonald born 1913 in elswick newcastle.
on his birth cert the address is 90 mill lane elswick and his parents are john macdonald (ship rivetter) and mother mary macdonald formally hall.
carnt seem to find a marriage for them.
any help would be apprechiate

also there were rumours that his parents might have came from scotland,but when
i did a census look up for the address in 1911 there was a family of hall living there but they were born in newcastle. could be a coinsidence i know. stanley didnt talk about his parenta when he was alive and there was also rumours that he might have been adopted. he was brought up by a woman who he regarded as his aunty alice living in dock street sunderland. i believe her marriage name was bailey.
i will try to add more info as i get it but thanks in advance.

also he came out of the army in 1943 -1945 the east yorkshire regiment.he joined up as a boy soldier so must have been about 13yrs old or so.he made it to a sargent in the regiment when he left.

Have traced the John Hall in the 1911 back to 1871 where he is shown with a daughter Mary Ann:

I think this is the same Mary Ann Hall as above born1862/3 daughter of Edward and Jane nee Carr.
She married 20/6/188 to William Maughan her sister Catherine Gibson (Hall) was a witness.

A tree on Ancestry has the above info and also Edward Hall born @ 1841 in 1911 at 90,Mill Lane so it all needs checking out.

If you buy credits on Scotlands People, you can view and/or print the image of the original marriage cert for John Macdonald and Mary Hall, as posted above.

As well as date and place of marriage, and their ages and occupations, it will tell you their parents' names, and when their parents married, which will help you search further back.

thanx for the info everyone..the marriage in glasgow i ruled out as i am sure on the info it has them both being born in glasgow where as the hall family were born in newcastle...or i could just be confused.

The Scottish marriage certificate that you view would give their place of residence not their place of birth. I think it was about the 1960s or 1970s before Scottish marriage registrations gave the place of birth.

If you haven't found a marriage for them, how can you be sure that the Halls were all born in Newcastle please?

Have you eliminated this McDonald family please? They had 6 children still living in 1911

i know what you mean but on the 1901 census it says edward hall was born in denton burn and jane his wife born in mickley northumberland.
i dont even have any proof yet that they are even related to each other.aa i said in my original posts 90 mill lane in elswick is the residence given on the birth certificate of stanley hall macdonald...mother is mary macdonald formally hall.

edward hall who was living at 90 mill lane in the 1911 census died in 1915. Would the only way i could find the address at his death would this be the death cert is thge correct????
