Yes Dea, another cousin has that 1923 arrival record. But neither seem to have a naturalisation record. Full name Thomas M Mcgourty.

Do you have this Maurice? - I don't know what details it shows but it might be worth taking a look.

Say's he was naturalised 1888

Last passport issued 1910

He wanted the passport for a round the world cruise

It has a photo of him too

Thank you Dea and AustinQ your suggestions that Thomas and Julia married in the US have proved to be correct,

Thomas is featured in a book Prominent Men of Scranton, and it says he married Julia Otoole 11 May 1879.

The 1880 census for Thomas and Julia in column 12 says they were married in the census year.
