hi i'm trying to put together my tree and would love to be able to give my dad some answers and more information on his family.
his name is james blakeley his mothers name was sophia blakeley, sophia's mother and farther were named henry blakeley and sophia blakeley (maiden name cox)
they are from gateshead area we have no info at all and would love to find out more
if anyone recognizes the surname or anything i would really appreciate a reply

Maybe Margaret's 1911, looking at the area where Henry was born and died. So Mum would have been carrying her when the census was conducted. Am not seeing another Blakeley/Cox marriage.

You can look for possible marriages of Henry and Sophia's children on freebmd and then for possible children of theirs. You might find a death, but the site only goes up to the 1970's ish at the moment - eventually it will go to 1983. You need commercial sites after that.

This is probably the family in the 1939 register. It was to be a record of all people other than servicemen in September 1939 and formed the basis for Identity cards etc. After the war it became the basis for the NHS and was kept updated until the early 1990's. Anyone born after 1915 has their record closed for privacy purposes unless to is proved they have died since. You'll also see some changes to married names as it was updated etc.

In this case there are 4 closed records after Sophia - 4 of the children most likely. Haven't found Henry.
