1841 census for Kirkthorpe near Wakefield please

Member Since: March 2003 Posts: 2,377 Send Message	Going through all the posts repeatedly I have built a fairly clear understanding of the life and death of Charles Darby Wells but the question of his first wife Elizabeth's death has been lost. My first reaction was to check FreeBMD but of course BMD didn't start until 1837! Sometimes deaths get a mention in Parish Records, along with the Marriages and Baptisms ?

When I I originally started into my family research about 18 years ago familysearch took you into IGI, Parish Records back into the 16th century but those days are long gone! My final request for info is the marriage of my G G Grandfather Charles Wells to Hannah Burton at St. Olave in York 5.3.1832. Does the record of this event include Charles date of birth and/or his fathers name, as is given from the start of BMD in 1837? Many thanks, Frances

	So, your line is to Charles who married Hannah? So you must have info about them............... Civil marriage certs do not include DOB - merely the declared age at the time, and in early years, it was often just recorded as 'full' if they were over 21 Prior to 1837, the only names on the register were those of the bride, groom, witnesses and officiating minister

	Where was Charles born - and when? Is he on a UK census?
