Am I misunderstanding please? George Horn Buchanan born in 1890 had a son, George born in 1903?

This is the only George Buchanan death registered in Scotland in 1957 and he has no middle name

Cindy, there's something not right about this. Firstly there is no record of a George Horn Buchanan in Scotland. So either he adopted the middle name of Horn or was perhaps born Horn and his mother married or remarried a Buchanan. It's also unlikely that a man born in 1890 fathered a legitimate son in 1903.

If you are certain of that 1903 birthdate, then you could buy credits for Scotlandspeople and look at the 1903 births to see if any of them match the February date that you have.

I have a letter somewhere that he wrote to me when he was alive .. George Buchanan who married Olive Brown. George told me himself that his father was George Horn. I will see if I can find the letter to recheck what he wrote.

Birthdate and him arriving in Victoria is right but dont know a J. Buchanan. For his wife is O. Brown. He lived in Seymour Victoria after arriving here.

Cindy

Cindy Report 11 Jul 2018 09:28

Sorry, I just re-read your post and the J Buchanan could be his grandmother or mother whose maiden I believe was Horne? I could be wrong on this as I am going by my kid's great-grandfathers info.

There is a Buchanan / Horne marriage in 1870 but not Glasgow. It's Stirlingshire.

I found a letter dated 1986 from him to my family, Is there some way of uploading the letter for you to read? To tell the truth I could read it back then but now not so much :-D
