Thanks again for all your help.

This means that I have now eliminated 2 Joseph Rushworths. This one and Joseph who married Eliza Eastwood. Her father was William Rushworth.

Maybe one day I will get to the bottom of this tree.

Thanks

Hi Mary. rootgatherer and Malyon.

Thank you so much for trying to solve this problem. I am also thinking that Jonathans dads name could be wrong. Maybe as he was living with Joseph and Martha he assumed his dads name was Joseph. We do not know when he started living with them or why he was living with them. One one of the census he said he came from gildersom but I could not find him on those parish records.

I found a Joseph and Martha With parents called Joseph and Ann ? Ann Holmes but there was also a William with parents Joseph and Ann born Halifax 1807. Joseph and Ann Holmes married in 1813 in Howarth lincs. I did see a Joseph and Ann robinson could they be Williams Parents. Unfortunately I cannot find anything about these two.

Also there is quite a big age gap between William , Martha, Jonathan and Joseph which again makes me think they are not all related. My guess is Joseph and Martha are related but the other two are not.

As for that baptism I was thinking it could be him.

As for the Anderson family I could have sworn I had seen somethink that said Josephs dad was Joseph. As this seems not to be the case then I am having to start again.

Thank you so much for helping me,

Jane

If Jonathan is with William and Ann on the 1841 then surely the other Jonathan is not mine??? But then why would he put Joseph on his marriage cert as his Dad.

I wonder could he be William born 1807 (the one I thought was his brother) son and Joseph (dad) just excepted him as his son.

Jonathans first childs name was Phoebe I can't find any other phoebes in my family so why did he chose this name?

So many questions and unfortunately I do not think I will ever get to the bottom of this one.
