Hello I am trying to find a baptism/christening for Thomas Rigby which is challenging as I don't know where he was born. I have his death certificate 14th June 1847 aged 46. Death at 71 Dale Street, Liverpool. Occupation Draper. I have the 1841 census Dale Street which states not born in this county and I have his marriage to Ann Jones 20th August 1834 in Islip, Nothamptonshire. I have found Ann on the 1851 census living with a Lodger which states that Ann was born in Hawarden, Flintshire, Wales. I have the birth certificate 18th January 1841 Dale Street for their son Henry Jones Rigby which gives their names and gives the occupation for Thomas as a Hosier. Children on the 1841 census are William 6, Jane 4 and Henry himself. Any help with finding where Thomas was born or baptised would be really appreciated. Thank you Ben

This is odd - the address 71 Dale Street which you mention in your OP
On the original Henry is definitely listed as aged 19.
Jane 's relationship to the Head is written as dau of and squeezed above that into the same line it says Ann Rigby who does not sleep on the premises.

One possibility - though I don't see how you can ever prove if it's the right one or not.

Thomas and Ann's marriage record says that Thomas was "of the parish of Aldwincle"
which, of course, doesn't mean he was born there, but was just living there in 1834.
Their son William was baptised in Aldwinkle in 1835 - at which time Thomas was a land bailiff.

The marriage of Thomas and Ann took place in the parish of Islip which was Ann's parish at the time of marriage. Thomas was of the parish of Aldwincle. The marriage took place by Licence and the witnesses were ?..... ?Gunn and Elizabeth Jones
Which would make sense of this baptism -
William Rigby in the Northamptonshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, 1813-1912
Name William Rigby Age 0 Birth Date Abt 1835 Baptism Date 21 Jun 1835 Baptism Place Aldwinkle, All Saints, Northamptonshire, England Parish as it Appears Aldwinkle, All Saints Register Type Bishops Transcripts Father Thomas Rigby Mother Anne Rigby
From original - Thomas is shown as a Land Bailiff

Thank you for all of this. I found a couple of baptisms in Northamptonshire. Both were I believe 24 miles from Aldwincle. The Weston Flavell baptism in 1801 and the other was 1806 in Pitsford, Northamptonshire
