Hi Mary how are you? Thank you for your very kind offer. I am looking for George Mason (a coach painteer) on 21.03.1848 he was age 19 and attempted to murder my dear old ancestor Christianna Wilkes. There is an article about the incident in the Times Newspaper. He appeared in court 11th Feb 1848. Committed for trail. Not sure when the trail date was but on documents later when Christianna was applying for a pension it states Mason had been deported. Do not know if you can find anything about his departure from England, Many thanks and regards Irene

Hello Di from Sydney Elijah Joel convicted 1 Feb 1836 at Central Criminal Court sentenced 7 years,transported 27 Sept 1836 on ship John to NSW. Hi Irene Good to hear from you again,I am very well and hope the same goes for you.This looks as if this might be the notorious chappie George Mason convicted 28 Feb 1848 at Central Criminal Court sentenced 10 years,transported on ship William Jardine 9 Aug 1850 to Van Diemans Land(Tasmania). Hi Mike Not sure about this one: John Daniels convicted at Central Criminal Court 27 Feb 1860 sentenced 6years penal servitude,transported on ship Norwood to Western Australia 13 March 1862. Only one in the time frame. Regards Mary
