I'm getting nowhere with the Rice family in Devon and the person who's helping me is stumped as well. Won't bother posting lengthy details though unless anyone is interested

Frederick Rice wasn't born until 1953 so is not listed above. There was also another Justina (1856). Have found a death for the first Justina (spelt Jestine in 1851 census) and believe the later Justina was named after their first one. We also found what we suspect was Harriet's death. As for the rest of them, we're totally stuck. William may have married a few times but I might be getting him mixed up with one of his sons. So what happened to the rest of them? Any help kindly appreciated as I'm tearing my hair out with frustration!

Oh, and I would point out that at some stage one of them (Henry) moved to Wales and they became Wrights (and once RIGHT on a census) so it's possible that their names are misspelled somewhere

Yep, that's them in 1861. Sorry, was busy digging that one out. By 1771 obviously some of them had married and moved Can't find them anywhere in 1881 though.

Oh, and we think the Christiana in 1841 census is in fact the Justina in the next census despite the age different. By the 1861 census, the first Justina/Jestina has died, to be replaced by the 2nd Justina

Glitter baby I'd forgotten about that! Found it last week and noticed the Saturley name which Eliza (I think) had married into. Thanks for reminder. I think after I found that, it was probably very late and I went to bed and totally forgot. At least I can try searching for Thirza Saturley now, and what's more, I've seen the Saturley spelling spelt like that twice which might help as I've seen so many variations of it.

Jennifer Looks like them but I'm wondering why, if Thirza married James Saturley in 1869, she's back with her mother in 1871 as Thirza Rice again. Must have been a very short marriage!
