Is there any kind person out there who could do an 1841 census look up for me. Willaim Guinn married to Harriett Simpson. Assumed living in Hoxton or thereabouts . They have a daughter caroline who would be about 14yrs. Many thanks.

Where is Hoxton? And when were the parents born? Reg

If he was born 1821-ish, he's not likely to have a 14 yr old daughter.........unless he married a widow. Is that the case? Reg

Elaine. I think you are on the right track. On his daughter Carolines wedding cert. William Guinn is given as a tailor. Margaret

so the 1841 I found looks a possibility. Where have you found the info that William Guinn married Harriett Simpson - and when and where did they marry?

I guessed Caroline the daughters age from the marriage cert.

Who/when did Caroline marry? Perhaps we can find her on a census return and then work out when/where she was born.

sorry - you say you guessed Carolines age from marriage certificate - presume you mean her marriage certificate. Have you not found her in a later census so that you can confirm her year of birth ?
