Don't get your hopes up .... might be red herring: Deaths Naval Ratings James M Henderson 1944 Vol 5 Page 1771 Naval Rating: A/A.B Ship/Unit: Swale. Hopefully someone can shed some light on the Rating : A / A.B ... and if Swale is the name of a Ship. It MIGHT be NOTHING ... but I was looking for someone else !. and fell over it ! I can only assume you would be able to send for this Death Cert in the same way as you would a normal one ... but I really do NOT know. The Volume and Page Number MUST mean something .!' You need to ask advice from someone who knows about the forces !.. in particular the Navy ! Elaine ;-)

Tracey, Joking aside .... I started my tree with the information that a Medium gave me. 98% of it was 100% accurate. If you get chance, pull Derek to one side and ask him ....PLEAAAAAASEEEE !!! When he died would be good enough !! I'm trawling the internet for information regarding SS Gulfport .... all I can find is the retirement home in Gulfport for Naval folks ....! (getting a bit closer though !!) Elaine ;-)

Elaine, if they was even a slightest chance of me being able to i would, security would be so tight due to it being televised, knowing my luck i would seize an open oppertunity, and spend a night in a prison cell, Due to lady luck not knowing me or where i live. Does anybody have her email add so i can give her my details, next time she feels like shelling some luck out she will no where to find me.LOL tracey

Hi everyone, Only my thought but we know the National Archives have Navel admissions up to 1928 some of which are available on line, I've checked those and he doesn't seem to be there........ Now are the online records complete or not? Might be an idea to get intouch with the national archives and find out, if they're not then you might want to ask them to do a search for you. We know he signed up before 1922(Benjamin birth) so he should be on their records!! His admission papers will at least give a date of birth and possibly a lot more..........like fathers name and address at the time. Got to be worth a shot at this stage.......... Fiona. x P.S. Might also be handy to have the birth certificate for James 1921 to see if he was in the Navy then also.

Actually, its easier to just say ... want any 'Craven' birth in Keighley !! around about 1800 +/- 20 years ! ... and any 'Craven' marriage about 1840 +/- 20 years !! ......... but I suppose it would only take me a short while to sort the actuall names out ! Heather Report 15 Mar 2006 14:38

Not a lot of use to you, but my Grandfather who was in the Navy from at least 1900-1929 doesnt appear on the NA listings - I have a piccy of him in his uniform and on his marriage certificate he was also a fireman on HMS Rollcall. So, I guess the answer is no, their listings arent complete.

Unknown Report 15 Mar 2006 14:43

Cheers Heather, That's a great help. At least now, Tracey or sarah can get in touch with NA and see if they can do a search with the little information they have...... Cheers Elaine ;-)
