Oh no!!! How frustrating for you. Is this on a census? Could you find her on another census perhaps? If her parents first names are legible, could you look for them on a later census? Liz |

If you post the details, we can all put our thinking caps on and see if we can find a way round this one. Liz |

Julie | Report | 27 Feb 2006 12:18 |
Liz Thank you. her name was Emma b 1837 Burnham, Buckinghamshire. In the 1851 when you look at the image the person that transcribed it has put her with the family below, but theres a thick black line under have name. The image on the page before is ok so it looks like she worked for Francis Rone. Julie |

The Emma ??? on 1851 is 15 yrs old ... b 1836 Burnham ....... which means she COULD have been born 1835 or 1836. Is her year of birth always consistant through the later census's being born in 1836 OR 1837 .... it will make a difference ... The son's BIRTH cert will give you Mum's maiden name. Births Jun 1861 NEWMAN James Eton 3a 365 |

Have added details for son James's birth cert ....above .. Eton covers Ivor district........ When was your G gran Elizabeth born ? Cheers Jess ! that eliminates her then ! I thought it was .... too good ... to be true !! (sorry !) Liz is right though .... too many Emma's born in Burnham 1837 to waste time on 1 image. Child's Birth cert is best - you may get wrong marriage cert first... |
