Donna Only found one baptism at St. Marks, Swindon: Mary Elizabeth Syme bpt. 17/9/1871 daughter of William Mitchell and Jane Syme. Living Oxford Street. William a fitter. Only marriage found St. Marks in March Qtr 1869: William Mitchell Syme Age 24, an erector, to Jane Hall age 22 26/3/1869 by Licence. Wm living at Bellwood Place Jane living at Faringdon St. Fathers John Syme, Enginerman and John Hall, Engine Driver. Witnesses John Hall and Robert Hall. Ran out of time but can look for your other Halls another day if you want.

Lesley Couldn't find a place called Cleve. There is somewhere near Bristol called Cleeve. Corsham Marriage: John Cowley of the 62d Regt to Mary Jones otp 10/8/1812 by Banns. Witnesses Suanna Lacey and R. A. Boucher. The only baptism I found around that time was a John bpt 11/6/1815 but born to a George and Mary Cowley. Possible wife: Baptism Mary bpt 15/7/1792 to George and Catherine Jones. Age - 3 years.

Hi Anna, Thank you so much for all the information - even more than I asked for. You have confirmed my belief that I had the right wife for Thomas Kill's father. I wasn't sure about it being Ann Bacon, but now I am - thank you. Thank you also for giving me Richard Ransom's mother's name, even if he does seem to be illegitimate. I think the middle name of Hinton must be a clue to his father, and 30 years later in the 1851 census there is still a family of Hinton's living a few doors away from my family. Think the head of the family must be the number one suspect!! Hope you had a good day and managed to find time for some of your own research. Thanks again, Kath. x
