I was told that she was married to a man called Dan. That's all I know I was very young. I was also told that she went 'mad' probably a nervous breakdown these days and consequently she committed suicide. There were no children to her and Dan. I just wonder now if all that was true. Jen

Hi Merry Still stuck on Edith & Walter. All I know is that they lived in Whitby. The Whitby adjacent to Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. Is there anything else you can do or have we to give up tonight? Jen

I don't see what else anyone could do........If you trawled the GRO indexes, either expensively on 1837online or free at a County Record Office or library, it would still be difficult to know if you were looking at the correct entry. Only other thing you could do would be to track down the Electoral Roll for where they were living in Wem and see how long Walter lived there...... Otherwise you may have to wait for the next census to come out (in 2012) and see what they were doing in 1911 !! Merry
