If the son, John Charles Gillas was born 1930 ... why are we looking for the parents marriage in 1900, surely this is way too early. Since you know Mum's maiden name, you should check on 1837online for all other possible births before John, see when the oldest child was born, and look around that time scale for a marriage. Elaine :-0 Having just read the thread through, it doesn't sound as if you actually KNOW when/Where John Charles was born. How have you got back to John C Gillas ... and what makes you think he may have been born around 1930. What information have you got that connects him to this couple as parents?

Lisa - if a son was born 1930ish then I think it most unlikely his parents married 1900ish. With best will in world son's mother would have been late 40's and I'd have expected to have seen some birth in the late 20's. Have you got the son's BC so that you are giving us accurate info? We already know there are no Gillas marriages 1895 to 1920 or births after 1872 I think we're on a wild goose chase until you have accurate information from a birth certificate

Elaine - if Harold J Gillas married an Edwards in q1/1930, how come there are no Gillas births on familyrelatives after 1872??

Margaret

Margaret Report 23 Mar 2005 18:31

Jools Familyrelatives is only transcribed up to 1920. After that its just like 1837online. The lists it gives you are just the first and last names on the pages. Easier to use 1837online after 1920 at the moment Margaret

Jools

Jools Report 23 Mar 2005 18:43

Margaret - if you look at the bottom of page 1 of this thread, you will see that I posted the result of a search on familyrelatives 1866-1920. This is what I was referring to. I know 1837online is the place to go 1921 forwards. I still ask the question - if the last Gillas birth on family relativres in the period 1866-1920 is 1872, how can someone called Gillas marry in 1930 and go on to have children, it is almost biologically impossible.

Jools, I see where your coming from ... and I agree, would seem highly unlikely ! I've never used this Family Relatives site that your referring to ...is it 100% complete & reliable (if its transcribed) I can only give what I find and its definately on the marriages 1837online ...shall I send you the image from 1837 ? Elaine :-)
