Hi April I'll have a look over the weekend or late this evening, they probably wont be in the Hastings area, but probably in Burwash as you say they had a son born in Burwash in 1851 but I will have a look in both for you and post details over the next couple of days. Karen

Hiya Derek I dont think I'm going to be able to help you, I only have census details and I dont have the census details for Midhurst, but i will have a nose through the areas I've got either this evening or over the weekend and post a new message on this thread once I've looked. Karen

Hi April I've checked all areas that I have for the 1851 census and theres no sign of your Saunders family, my census index's dont cover St Leonards so maybe they were still there. Sorry I couldnt help. Karen

Thanks for looking Karen. I'll have to see if he's in an 1861 census, although since he was a mariner he may have already run away to sea by the time he was 16.

Hi Anthony Apologies for the delay. I've just checked my indexes and theres no Fleetwoods mentioned, although my indexes dont cover the whole of Sussex (my 1st message on page 1 lists the areas my indexes cover). Sorry I wasnt able to help. Karen
