I am looking for my great gran, I have been told her name was annie she married in neath wales in 1903, I have found the marriage with help but she was named as Hannah Jane Batten,They put her name as annie but crossed it out on the cert, she was 21 yrs old and her father was a coal minor william henry batten, I have found a hannah batton living in wales in 1901 born in plymouth she isn't with her parents so i can't be sure it's her, I've looked for a birth for this Hannah batten but can't find one, however i have found a annie batten born in plymouth for the same year. does this sound like the same person??? if this is her why would she keep changing her name?

cant see her either, prob only way is to order the annie birth cert and use her dads name as a ref then gro only charge £3.,if the fathers name is diff to what you want,

I knew there was a reason why i dismissed that family, I was thinking there might even have been a typo on the batten.

Note we now have an Annie!! If she really was 21 when she got married in 1903, that would mean a birthdate of 1882 ...................... ca 1884 IS within the 2 year spread that one usually assumes possible on census information! Sylvia
