there are two sarah Oliver's at the right age!

How do I find out which one's mine?

Seeing as this is 1800 or 1801?

She's 40 on the 1841 census..but still don't know which one!

you apply for both birth certs and check the parentage.

As Wayne said you will have to get both. Do you have the marriage certificate to check fathers name against?

As you have the IGI giving marriage date, I would look up record index for marriage and apply for certificate. This will give both parties fathers names. This way you can check with info you know on Samuel and you then know her fathers name and can apply for both birth certificates and can then cross ref and find out which is one you need.

The 1841 census has ages rounded down for those aged over 15.

So she could have been any age between 40 and 44.

Unfortunately there were no birth etc., certificates until 1837.....if you wanted to find out BMD's you had to go to the parish records.

If you are looking for an 1800/1 birth, this would make her 16 at marriage. Quite possible but I would be tempted to look at bit earlier for a birth, expecially as the ages on the 41 census are rounded up/down as Chris said.

Grr...I knew that aswell....but only two came up for 1798 to 1802...or do I need to widen my search?

Julie, Sarah Oliver married Samuel Heads, these two being err....my great great great great grandparents lol

I don't know anything else about Sarah other than her husband and children.
