Find Ancestors

I have just managed to find my step grandmother, however cant seem to find a birth for her!
Her married name is Jessie Elizabeth Batcheldor, born c1863 in Suffolk (poss Herringfleet, Suffolk), i found a marriage for her in 1885, which states her name prior to marriage was Richmond! This would mean that she would only have been about 22yrs at time of marriage, therefore i have temporarily ruled out that, this is a second marriage, however i cant seem to find a birth record for Jessie Elizabeth Richmond. Does anyone have any ideas?

Registration wasn't compulsary until 1875 so she may not have been registered.

I dont have the actual marriage cert but have the record of marriage (i only found this yesterday), and i did have her on the 1881 census.

It could be her i guess, its more than i have found for her so far (it was like i had made her up)!!

The BVRI is British Vital Records Index.
I'm afraid you can't access it online. It's a set of 16 cd's that you purchase from the LDS Church through the Familysearch site.
I purchased mine many years ago but have never been able to find any of my family on them. Lately I use them for look-ups for others and have had more luck.

I am amazed as to where you found her on 1871 census as i could not find her on this census!?
It definately looks like her though, but when i did the search it said there were no Jessie Richmond's at all!
The search site i use is Findmypast do they not have everyone on them or something?

Ps i just did another search but for the Dennis Chapman you have on the 1871 census and still couldn't find the record! i must be doing something wrong obviously!

I have Ancestry, and i do know that sometime they can be found on one and not the other.

I just noticed that record you sent says that is the date she was christened, would this be her birth date or not necessarily?
Also she was born Herringfleet, Suffolk, could this still be her?
