yes this could be as our thomas chowney was born 1829 ish as i said but then if this is the case then there is no james chowney and i have to find another link? thomas would have been about right for that census if so still means we may have found another generation to the tree lol.

The birth I am talking about is the child of James ( the convict )....the one I mentioned fanny Harriet is the wrong one, as you said that was James's sister.....what about the other ones I found.

i also know from wot my great aunt says , is that it was our great great ect grandad who faught to get our chowney a reprive and won , he was being shipped back when the hit storms and the ship sunk , he was there a good few years.

well we have a thomas chowney born 1832 ish so i was trying to find out if james chowney was his brother as we have achowney who was convicted and sent to botany bay ,

This James Chowney married a Harriet Searle........there is a child born Sept 1857 Fanny Harriet Chowney
Unfortunately the only way to find out which child is theirs is a birth certificate.
