Thank you Diane, see just what i needed someone to guide me in right way. I would have gone with the completely wrong family otherwise, although i did think there was something wrong between marriage date & kids date. Thank you.

Will have to wait for cert to see names of father, then hopefully find a marriage record for a ? croft to a hannah ?

Lol, nice to be called fab.... !!

The marriage record unfortunately is pre certs, but she has a nice unusual surname!

I've been flicking through the 1841c for a John Crofts lodging/living elsewhere but not found him. The youngest on the 1841c is 6, so implies if he died it was after 1835. We know he is dead by the 1851, but I wondered if it was before 1841.

There are 4 possible death records on the BMD, but 3 are in Rugby district and one in Hinckley, and I would have thought they would be registered closer, if not in, Leamington. I haven't explored what district leamington fell into in those days.

Still.. there's food for thought for you.... ping me if you want anything else!!

Just notice nbi has good coverage of warwickshire, so may get lucky through that. fingers crossed.
