If you click on the Help bit - top right hand corner- there is some info there. I don't know if this is what Glen meant or not. Heather and I have both posted some advice in our Tips for Newbies and Are you new to all this? threads. Hope they are helpful.

I don't see any reason to be so upset about nudging.

It brings threads up to the front that are useful for newbies (and others!!!), giving lots of advice that we all have had to find out for ourselves. And anything that makes life easier for those of us who help is welcome.

A nudge can also bring up a thread that will answer a question asked by someone who didn't know that their question had been answered yonkers ago, but another person has realised that.

I do wish that postings could be removed completely though, instead of that stupid deleted either by administrator or ....................... That's useless!!!

Found it - thank you Cynthia - first time I've looked at 'help'. Managed to load my tree and put photos on without looking here - the obvious place to start!

Better nnnnnnnnnnnudge this up abit!

I nudge up threads if I see a genuine enquiry which is a few pages down which has never received even one reply.

I just feel sorry for them and hope someone else can help where I canĀ“t.

Hi

Nudging is not too bad. As long as you dont do it too much in my opinion, if you just want to bring up a lost topic for attention then it is OK, especially if you are really in need of genealogy help.
