Can anyone help please My brother is in a care home at the moment, and when I was cleaning his bedroom at his home I found an old wedding photograph I asked if it was anyone from our family and he said he as no idea he found it behind another photo in a frame but he cannot remember who's photo it was behind he seems to think it was from our fathers side of the family The groom in the photo is wearing a uniform but I do not know what uniform it is I would say photo maybe somewhere around 1930 If I knew the uniform I may be able trace who they are a long shot I know but I'd like to try How can I find out what the uniform is??

Do you think it is a military uniform? If so then have a look here to see if you can find one the same:-

If it's not military then could you perhaps upload the photo to your "Keepsafe" and make it public and put a link to it on this thread. Then we can have a look and see if anyone recognizes it.

When you have the photo on your screen copy the address that is showing in your browser. It will be something like this:-

First of all, make sure that you have selected 'shared with everyone' on the right-hand side of the photo page. Then copy the url and paste it onto the thread. That way anyone wishing to look at your photo can click on the link and be able to view.

Sorry, no. For some reason it is taking me to my own keepsafe.

Look at the link DetEcTive has given and it should be the same wording as that only with different numbers at the end.

Make sure you click on the photo first to highlight it. This should bring up the correct link.

Well I'd definitely say it is an army uniform and he looks like he is a corporal (one stripe on his arm). Because he hasn't got his cap on with a cap badge there is nothing to show which regiment he was in.

looks like a forties wedding and I thought he was RAF

I thought 1940's too Ann. You could be right about the RAF......I'm not too sure about uniforms.

It looks like a RAF good conduct stripe chevron, point up, lower left sleeve issued from 1927. 1 stripe was issued for three years good service.

It looks like a forties wedding to me . I was a bridesmaid in 1948 and the bride had one of those big bridal bouquets. The chap looks like RAF to me too

Weren't clothes still on ration? Her Maj married 1947 and was the greatful recipient of donated clothing ration coupons. Internet sources said it ended in Mar 1949.

He also has medal ribbons, though too fuzzy to see what they are.
