Hi Christine I think there may be gaps or mistranscriptions on 1881. I;ve been looking for my Robert Wareham for about 6 years now - no joy. Suggest searching first name / year of birth and trawl through all possible matches. (not sure you can do this on FamilySearch) but Ancestry lets you. Also, try switching names around - forename/surname as I think there are a few odd ones that have been put in backwards. Good luck! Jill

Beat me to it, Tracy! Christine - this explains why you hadn't found the 1871-census children in the later census - maybe Alice & Frank's kids stayed with her & Alfred, whilst Alfred & Johanna's kids went to live with their grandparents...

The John family are living next door to the Pennys in 1881.
