Can you believe it, I forgot my Grandmothers name is Keturah (quite unusual,) and I have a neighbour called Brazil, (as in the country or the nut) but because their names are in use every day they don't seem so strange to me. Ruth .xXx.

Hi I've got a n x Grtgrandmother by the name of REATILDA DRUSCILLA Clark/e(Clarke maiden, Clark married or vice versa). Unfortunately I haven't been able to trace her family back. I've also come across a REPENTANCE Scipton, in a parish record, although that's from the 1650's. And on a census I've seen LODACCIA. Helen

Tonight I found that Humphrey & Mary Atherton (who may or may not be connected to us) in the 1600s gave their boys the names Watching and Consider, and their girls Rest and Thankful!!! They also had ordinary names for the rest of their brood. Wonder what was going on there!!!! LOL! Sue (in NZ)

Beat this one if you can!!! One of my mate's family was christened in the 1860's with the wonderful christian names of Hamlet Bertie Bevan Melanethan. Poor little soul. I bet he got a bit of ribbing from his classmates!
