*$parkling $andie* Report 21 Dec 2009 22:37

They seem to have sales before Xmas now , but I expect there will be loads after, but I hate the queues.
Asda have already had sales and I've bought quite a bit already.
I tend to buy wrapping paper and cards after Xmas in the sales.

Have you had snow ? We had about 6 inches this so hubby took my car to work, it's better in the snow than his.

Haribo

Haribo Report 21 Dec 2009 23:12

we have it bad here in Herts, it started last Thursday evening, 6 inches fell that night. Another lot fell on Saturday and today.. traffic chaos everywhere.Took my son two and a half hours to drive into work this evening, usually takes 50 min.

Do you think the snow will be thawed in your area by xmas day?

Haribo

Haribo Report 12 Jan 2010 22:20

no!!! it wasn't, still thick on the ground today.

What colour are your wellies?

DizzieLizzie

DizzieLizzie Report 18 Jan 2010 08:31

They're green, but they're not posh - had them for years. I like some of the colourful ones you can get now. Best we could do when my kids were little were ones that had frog eyes on them. But adult ones were all plain.

It was a lovely day yesterday. Has all your snow thawed now?

*$parkling $andie* Report 25 Jan 2010 22:44

Most of it, still piles where peeps have shovelled onto their gardens to clear drives.
Do you like spiders ?

DizzieLizzie

DizzieLizzie Report 25 Jan 2010 23:08

I'm quite happy with spiders - my OH doesn't like them though. My problem is squirmy things like snakes worms, slugs, and caterpillars. Got attacked by a green one in the kitchen the other day . Would have been brave if no-one was around but I had knight in shining armour at home to rescue me.

Is there anything you have to rescue your OH from?

Nah , he's tough as old boots.

Do you send Valentine cards..?

DizzieLizzie

DizzieLizzie Report 2 Feb 2010 08:59

Yeah - we do and we still don't sign them though it's obvious. He usually gets someone at work to write mine. Pair of old softies stil,l though not a great pinky hearts couple. Not into the cutesy teddy bear lines. I'd rather perhaps look round the garden and see something coming into winter flower to remind me of an occasion.

Do you still get ittle surprise gifts for each other at other times for no apparent reason other than you felt like it?

*$parkling $andie* Report 3 Feb 2010 16:43

Not really ,other than me buying him chocs or a nice bottle of wine(if they are on offer( lol ).

Are you the average weight for your height..? Bet no one wants to answer this one other than the lucky /health conscience / fit guys !

*$parkling $andie* Report 5 Feb 2010 23:14

I'll answer my own question, as someone has deleted.

I'm 5.4 and 9st , so quite happy with my size. I think it's average for my age.

Do you use an ordinary toothbrush or a battery operated one ..?

Anne

Anne Report 6 Feb 2010 21:43

I use an electric toothbrush mostly but also have an ordinary one.

Do you floss as well ?

*$parkling $andie*

*$parkling $andie* Report 6 Feb 2010 22:08

Yes, but some of my teeth are close and it makes them bleed sometimes

Do you go to the hairdressers regularly , for a cut ,blow dry or something else ?

Karen in the desert

Karen in the desert Report 7 Feb 2010 01:01

Yes, I go regularly to the hairdresser for a cut & blow dry.

Do you have a manicure/pedicure on a regular basis?

K

*$parkling $andie* Report 7 Feb 2010 18:29

No I manage my own nails. I'd rather go to the dentist than the hairdresser but I've been going for 2 yrs now..I just think of all the money I've saved over the yrs. My hair is curly and does it's own thing!!

Do you follow the rugby internationals now the 6 nations has started..?

Do you like watching Rugby Union, especially the 6 nations games ?

DizzieLizzie

DizzieLizzie Report 19 Feb 2010 18:29

Don't mind watching Rugby if someone has it on but not a great fan. I prefer tennis. When we lived nearer I used to take a picnic for the Wimbledon queue and usually had some strawberries to share out with people in front and behind us.

Have you ever been to Wimbledon?

*$parkling $andie*

*$parkling $andie* Report 19 Feb 2010 23:05

No unfortunately :(
I live in S Wales, if I lived nearer I would join the queue to try and get a ticket:)

Have you had snow? we are getting it every day !

DizzieLizzie

DizzieLizzie Report 20 Feb 2010 08:57

After the main snows thawed we've had occasional small flurries since. There was a little bit yesterday that came to nothing and it's a possibility we'll get some next week too.

It's lovely at first when it's all fresh and snowmen get made and kids are playing snowballs, but aren't you getting a bit fed up with it now?

*$parkling $andie*

*$parkling $andie* Report 20 Feb 2010 21:37

Really fed up with it,cos we have ice underneath the snow.
I bought one of those big orange snow shovels yesterday and is marvellous for fresh soft snow, clears it in a minute.

Are you wary of walking in the snow?
