No idea Stan, not very good at gardening, I just throw seeds in the general direction of the soil and hope for the best.

Whats your favourite veg?

Desperate Housewife ♥ Report 24 Apr 2008 21:45

Mainly grass seeds, the kids keep running about and making my lawn bald, sunflower seeds for my daughter but not had much luck there. I've got some cotton plant seeds, might try them.

What do you think?

Stan

Stan Report 24 Apr 2008 21:49

Get the kids involved give them some seeds to plant.
Night scented stock is an easy one.
Do you think that will work?

Desperate Housewife ♥

Desperate Housewife ♥ Report 24 Apr 2008 21:51

It might do, the youngest one likes to help but the eldest one just tramples the grass, gosh we are on here at the same time...a miracle Lol.

What is night scented stock? Bit thick woth plants me.

Stan

Stan Report 24 Apr 2008 21:58

As its name says it only smells at night, plant it by an open window.

My Mother used to grow Night Scented Stocks.
I grow veg and freeze as much as poss for use during winter - dig up a bit more 'lawn' each year!
My address area - down south - is part of my board name!

Do you enjoy gardening?

Don't mind doing a bit in the nice weather other than that I don't enjoy it.
Stan I'm not engrossed in something on the TV tonight that's why.

Is growing veg easy?

J* Near M3.Jct4

J* Near M3.Jct4 Report 24 Apr 2008 22:03

I think growing veg is easy just mind the slugs they like young green shoots!

It's easy to grow cherry tomatoes in patio pots.
Will you give it a try?

Stan

Stan Report 24 Apr 2008 22:05

Depends what you grow I grow lots of onions and shallots which I pickle .The grandkids love them.
What do your kids like?

Desperate Housewife ♥

Desperate Housewife ♥ Report 24 Apr 2008 22:08

No one likes tomatoes here. A neighbour gave me some sprout plants to grow and me and my little girl planted them, I think it took the slugs 3 days to eat them, and the ate my lettuce but they didn't get my strawbery plant, I put it on the wall in a pot and got about..oh 4 strawberries off it.

Not very good am I?

Stan

Stan Report 24 Apr 2008 22:13

Have you got a patio?
