Sue thank you so much, the 'genealogics' site is brilliant, and yes I've been able to go back several generations from Alfred the Great. Exciting to say the least. |

Got back to just before 1600 with a couple of branches, by having family tree weekends and stopping overnight for a couple of days in different record offices, and of course help from relatives I found on here too. Been doing this for about 5 or 6 years now, from just before things came available on the internet. |

Sir William Douglas of Cavers (it looks as if several had that name one after the other) was a descendant of the Bruce family and the early kings of Scotland. |
