The sad thing is, I left school 39 years ago and I still haven't had the chance to use Pythagoras’ theorem.

Was this a waste of the teachers time?

If, Dee you have a lens 80 mm diameter what is the area?
if you now have two lenses, of 50 mm diameter what is the combined area?
