Wend Report 29 May 2011 22:24

Pete says he hasn't heard from any of you lately . . . . .

Rambling Report 30 May 2011 01:50

Hi Wend, none of us seem to have much inspiration at the moment, maybe it is because of the good weather? all either going somewhere or gardening. Please tell Peter to send something out and it may spur us into action again :-)

I didn't send my last piece to Peter, think I have mislaid his email address. Would someone kindly pm me? Thanks.

Rose, it seems he hasn't been doing much either lol. I shall have a word with him and drag him out of his new(ish) local (where he has been on first name terms with the manager for some time!) * I was people-watching for my writing, he'll say. Yeah, yeah :D

Wend Report 30 May 2011 14:08

I agree Rose - I've been trying to get him to join GR, because there are certainly a few interesting characters on here. Not only that, he could help me with my brick walls, a few of which are on his side of the family!

Anyone want a jog. I got the following by using random numbers on a grid in Writers Forum magazine

Character 1)grumpy grandfather 2) Dog walker

Conflict 1)Getting lost 2)Not getting what you expected

Weather 1) Torrential rain 2)windy

Setting 1) beach 2)Funfair

Object 1) A folding chair 2) cherries

The idea being that you write a story based on either (1) or (2)

Not sure if that is clear.

No takers then?

Well done on your latest one Rose.

Helen in Kent

Helen in Kent Report 5 Jun 2011 15:42

Do you need to include all of the ones or twos?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 5 Jun 2011 16:03

there are two columns Helen. I have just included the ones on the left, I think Rose has included more. To follow the magazine accurately it should be one or the other but, as the aim is to help you write a story I don't think it matters too much

AnninGlos Report 7 Jun 2011 15:49

Do you find that, since you have been writing more, when you actually read a novel you are sort of disecting it to see where the author's ideas come from and how they work the plot out?

The more I read, Ann, the more I feel really inadequare as a writer :-( But it doesn't stop me! lol BCXX
