Oooooh. 15 seconds of fame. My daughter and her husband walked past and hovered behind the presenters in one that they filmed in Lincolnshire |

No nothing exciting, just a tiny brass box inlaid with enamel, which was given me by a Great Aunt along with her Singer sewing machine, in 1959. It's still the only machine I own and I use it all the time, keep the spools in the little box, it holds two. Apparently it was probably a patch box - for beauty spots for ladies and gents to cover up blemishes! |

It is here too, lovely blue sky but chilly in Norwich. I have friends in Toftwood and my brother lives in Brisley. I like Dereham. |

MMA sorry to hear about your injury and hope you will soon be mobile and out of pain. I don't get to Dereham much especially now my elderly friend and ex neighbour has died, I am not that friendly with her daughter in Toftwood, that I would visit. We went to Sheringham just over a week ago, all much the same altho I didn't walk to the prom. We use Dave's fish and chip shop in Co-operative street, do you? I bet if you are in Cromer you go to Mary Jane's. |

Please tell me I'm not the only one who delved into census records looking for Lorina Bulwer who made that sampler. |

I haven't done so but there was a lot on the radio about it so I am sure it raised loads of interest. What did you find? |

Lyndi | Report | 13 Jan 2014 06:54 |
I didn't look at census records Guinevere, but did google her and read a transcription of the sampler. It is apparently at a local museum until beginning of March so i may well go and take a look :-) |

She was a widowed "inmate" in 1901 in Yarmouth workhouse. Listed as a lunatic. She dies in 1912 but I can't see her in the 1911 census. |
