It's time for me to say goodbye, I've been a member for many years now but it's got to the stage now that you can't even make a comment albeit a home truth without being slatted by a small group of members, I've had good memories to take with me and had a good laugh with some members but those days are gone, so goodbye.

I can't say I was very impressed by the pack that quickly formed to attack.

It is something I will bear in mind before I post anything contentious again.

I posted on that thread.

I really object to being labelled as part of an attacking pack, or as dictating to what the poster should post.

I posted my opinion, fair & simple.
If you post something which comes across in an unpleasant way, then you will get varying opinions

I felt the OP came across as a "Ner ner ner told you so" sort of post, which in light of the young mothers death regardless of how she died was childish and a bit crass.
My post reflected that.

If the OP wishes to leave because of differing opinions or being RR'd then it's their choice, even if I feel it's a hasty one to leave over one thread I wish the OP well

(Btw it wasn't me but I can understand the OP being RR'd to stop the thread escalating)

Totally agree Mildred I posted on that thread , and read it it in the same way and I was simply pointing out that it was very sad at the loss of a young girls life........

Describing a perceived trend is not highlighting an individual.

This, I believe, is part of democracy , as is the freedom to express opinion without fear of reprisal.

You are labelling those who gave their opinions on what was an insensitive & gloating post, as being part of an attacking pack.

So it's ok for Brian to post the post he did without reprisal, but its ok for those of us who voiced our opposing opinions to get a backlash?.

After reading both the threads about Peaches Geldof I was appalled by the way Brian was publically lynched. This sort of behaviour has lead to a number of people leaving these boards recently. Anybody new to the boards could be put off by what is being aired. The number of posts on these boards has drastically declined recently. It's not hard to see why. :-(
