Sounds like a good idea Wendy.

Wendy.
Don´t know what it´s like where you are, but have you seen the price of a decent mattress?. Bed base, no problem. Cheap as chips, but a decent mattress comes in at around €800plus.
For the record, luckily we are on the ground floor.....well thought out in advance & the Russians have practically taken over the island. What they don´t already own, they are bidding for.
Do they know something we don´t?

Wisechild... No I haven't looked at prices yet. I've just got the names of a couple of shops that friends have used. I will be looking next week when my visitors are settled in. I hope it's not 800€ as I heed a bigger than average size as the bed needs to go between existing fitted small sets of drawers/night tables.

We don't have any Russians here in the north of the island or not that I know of but they are definitely buying property in the south.

You can get a standard size mattress for half of that price, but because of the heat & humidity here (& the shopkeepers pockets) they recommend that you get one which "breathes". The cheaper ones crumble within 5 years or so.
Happy hunting. :-D :-D

Russians were in the South at least 6 years ago Wendy when we had our timeshare there.

Yes Ann they were in Tenerife before I was. I hope they stay down the south I don't fancy one large Russian company owning most of Puerto :-D

Hopefully as our end of the island is still traditionally Canarian and completely different to the south coming here will be of little interest to them.

Perhaps you could buy a bed from the Russians. When you open it you'll find there's another smaller bed inside. :-D

Lol that's an image and a half Graham.

Wendy, you are right about time flying as we get older, I wonder why that is, it's definitely noticeable that no sooner have I put the Christmas stuff away, it's time to get it all out again.

Hope you find a nice comfy bed that isn't going to break the bank.
