A highway patrolman pulled alongside a speeding car on the
freeway. Glancing at the car, he was astounded to see that the
blonde behind the wheel was knitting! Realizing that she was
oblivious to his flashing lights and siren, the trooper cranked
down his window, turned on his bullhorn and
yelled, "PULLOVER!

"NO," the blonde yelled back,"IT'S A SCARF!"

I have more jam than Hartley's, all stuff I made when Fred was out foraging, not to mention sauces and pickles.

I can knit and am thinking about taking it up again and I have recently gone back to patchwork but have no intention of joining the WI. Some of them have set up a craft group that meets in the church hall at the same time as the old peoples club.

I went along with my patchwork to join in but they didn't seem any too keep on welcoming me so I joined the pensioners group instead.

Oh dear!
With all of us making fun comments at Island`s very serious thread, I do believe she may think we are all "loopy" and end up telling us to, get "Knotted".

Many moons ago I joined the local branch of the WI thinking it would get me out of the house and maybe I would make some local friends .

Nope they were so cliquey it wasn't true . I went to 3 meetings in all which were very boring ,and no one spoke to me other than asking me to sign in . Even on the tea break during the meetings I was left sitting on my own whilst people went into chat groups

I gave up ! :-S
