Thanks Allan... appreciated, I'm think I'll pay about $30Aus for a year, but it's about time GR got this sorted!

An email offering a discount is nice, but they SHOULD tell us the cost.,

:-D

Regarding the credits...... I have never used GR's records! My ancestors are mostly Scottish, the few English ones go back a loooooong way.

I repeat..... I have NEVER used GR's records, so why do I have a list of credits, which I have never bought and never used?

We'd all appreciate an explanation.

I have contacted support TWICE.

No response as yet.

I hope to hear from someone before my subs expire.

Does it not say renew on the top line where sign out is?

If so if you click on that it will tell you what they want you to pay

LS ....................

re contacting support twice ......................

it WAS the weekend :-)

work starts at about 8:00 or 8:30 am Monday mornings

LadyScozz Report 12 Aug 2014 04:20

The last email I sent to Support was Monday evening (Oz time).

It's now Tuesday afternoon here.

no response as yet :-(

BUT ~ I clicked on Renew........ found I could get 12 months standard membership for $2.27/month.

I don't know who uses the calculator at GR, but it cost $27.16 :-S

Membership sorted......... now I want to find out what's going on with those credits!

:-)

SylviaInCanada Report 12 Aug 2014 04:34

well,

if you notice

you don't actually HAVE any credits!!!!!!

If you look carefully at what you, and others posted ......................

Payment Date Total Credits Purchased Credit Expiry Date Remaining Credits
7/08/2010 1680 1/01/0001 0
8/08/2011 4050 1/01/0001 0

The last 2 categories are Expiry Date and Remaining Credits ..........

and Expiry Date was 1/01/0001

a date that actually doesn't exist :-)

and Remaining Credits was 0

I know I don't have any credits.

I want to know why there is a weird record of credits on my account, when I have never bought any. I'm not the only one.

It doesn't make sense. :-(

Personally ........

........ I think it dates back several years, and I think it was probably a new programme that the techies were trying to develop so that we could all keep track of credits that we had bought (or been given by GR as a "reward")

but it doesn't seem to work, and probably never will :-)

As usual, I checked my account after renewing.

As expected, the automatic renewal had been changed to ON!

I changed it back to OFF.

Lady Scozz, Florence and Budgie explained the phantom credit thing in posts on page 1 of this thread.

Why not leave your automatic renewal on, that way you will get an early email telling you when it is due and how much it will be. You can then turn it off if you don't want to renew.

I have NEVER used GR's records.

I don't want automatic renewal, just in case (of all sorts of reasons, including my demise, and my DH getting stuck with it). I get an email from GR to remind me my subs are about to expire.

You are not the only one with these credits that never existed... So don't worry about it

Re the credits issue - when asked about this, GR said it is due to a bug in the site of which the technical people are aware; that was last year maybe.
