The number of SNP MPs at Westminster is minimal, whereas the Scottish Labour contingent is quite large and can make quite a difference.

Also, which many people don't know, the legal system and the law in Scotland are quite different and so many Bills have to have a separate Scottish version.

Emma, I agree, but around here where the economy is largely dependent on the nuclear submarine base at Faslane and the depot at Coulport, the result of a YES vote could be disastrous.

According to the latest NO leaflet, the Trades Unions are in favour of staying in the UK, but I would take that with a pinch of salt!!

I wonder if they will reshow Rob Roy on sunday night :-D

I have never been a supporter of the SNP, that said, I knew and liked Margo MacDonald, as for Alex Salmond I can't stand the man, I read somewhere that he likes watching the space fantasy "Star Trek" and I think he has watched to many episodes and ended up in outer-space on his own little planet :-D

wee eck has indeed watched too much fantasy. Now he wants to drag Scotland into another fantasy which will go pear shaped in no time. As to what Salmond calls policy not long ago he called sterling a millstone around Scotland's neck and advocated the euro. Even as I write the SNP are putting out feelers for what an ongoing lease of Faslane might be worth. Opportunists with the gift of the gab should not be listened too but often are. It always ends on blood and tears. Lincoln, Napoleon, Hitler, Salmond, Lenin, Faraj, Moseley, Franco, Peron to name a few. England is mostly impervious to these people. I thought the Scots were too but it seems not. It all seems more like a Whitehall farce than a needless tragedy. True Cameron is brainless nitwit but a yes vote is like chucking the baby out with not only the bathwater but the deep blue sea. The bookies still have the nos to win.

Quite concerned to hear the reply a man gave when asked how he will be voting " I will vote "yes" I think we should give it a try."

Do people think it will be like a general election-change next time if it does'nt work out ?

Yes I do think they don't really know just how final this will be!
As you say whatever moron you vote in normally you have a chance to pick another moron after a few years. To steal a phrase from the RSPCA (or PDSA whichever it is), "independence is not just for Christmas"

It is a Yes which I dont think it will be ,and when it all goes belly up which it will, I do hope Mr Salmond doesnt appear back with cap in hand ;-)
