Now this is a very important question! :-D

When you have a hot drink, maybe tea or coffee, do you dip your biscuit
in your drink?

But if your with company, do you break the biscuit into two halves and eat instead?

At home - dip.

Elsewhere - still dip - depends on who is looking! I'm an uncultured slob.

But I'd never lick the plate afterwards! That's just too awful,

I let my dog do that. He has no hesitation or embarrassment. ;-)

As we are rarely offered or buy biscuits, on the odd occasion....

Dunk plain or chocolate biscuits at home.

If I can't dunk I don't have the biscuit ;-) But a lady I know who has 'ideas above her station' considers it very working class lol :-D

I prefer rich tea for tea though, and morning coffee for coffee, I used to like Barmouth biscuits to dunk but they don't seem to make them now. Sponge fingers are fun to dip but you have to be quick!

Not a dunker now but when I was younger then YEP was the norm

I was a WW2 child so lots of food stuffs were in short supply or not available at all

Sweets were my downfall. when they came off ration in the 1950,s the manufactures couldn't cope with the demand so they went on ration again so stocks could be built up

I was weekly paid so my Saturday treat to MEEE was to go to the local corner shop and buy about 12oz of mixed sweets and I scoffed the lot !!!

I like dunking chocolate biscuits in hot chocolate. :-) Especially jaffa cakes

As for dunking in the presence of others - depends on who it is. I dunk at work

What about soup, again mom thought it was not the done thing. When at home, I dunk huge lumps of bread into my soup, when eating out, I still dunk but break the roll into tiny bits.

You've started me off now............was always taught to tip the soup bowl away from me.........not anymore, unless it's a very posh 'do'

Definitely dunk bread in soup, but have to be reminded not to do it ‘out’. Always spoon (with a soup spoon, naturally ) away and drink from the side of the spoon.

Do you butter your soup bread?

Never did at home but now I love buttered bread to dunk :-)

But of course ;-)

The polite way was to tear off a bite sized piece, butter it, then pop it into your mouth.

At home its usually a normal thickness slice of bread, buttered then dunked.
If you've cut the bread too thin, the soggy end might fall off before it gets eaten :-0

Ooh! I haven't dunked a biscuit for a very long time.But now I want to :-D
I would dunk one at home with people here but never anywhere else.The only thing with dunking is when the biscuit breaks off and you get all the sludgy stuff in the bottom of the cup/mug.Now that I hate :-S

Yes I like to have a bit of butter on my bread with soup :-D

I always tear the bread up and put it all in the soup.

Try not to dunk my biscuits because I don't like to find a bit of biscuit in my tea if it falls off.

I don't drink coffee anymore but when I did and in France, I used to dunk my croissants

I wasn't allowed to dunk when I was a child........ but tried it when I wasn't under Mum's watchful eye........ and didn't like the soggy biscuit :-(

I'm not a dunker.

I quickly dunk plain biscuits...never chocolate ,in my tea.
I have a preference for plain MVit digestives and ginger nuts,which I have with my first morning cuppa.
I also dislike a biscuit falling in...that's why I only dunk quickly!

I dont dunk at all.....!! :-S :-S

I don't drink tea or coffee and prefer a packet of biscuits on the sofa to myself :-0
