The first single I bought in 1967 was Eric Burden & The Animals "House of the Rising Sun".

I don't remember the first LP.

I bought two singles. 'I can see clearly now', by Johnny Nash, and 'Starman' by David Bowie,

The first LP I had was given to me by an aunt, it was 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' by The Beatles. I swopped it with my sister for something or other :-(

was a bit of a classical buff in my youth
first record player a Champion 3 speed mono player

first record was Tchaikovskys piano concerto. 12 inch 78 single

later when I matured slightly, was a Shadows album

Still got my very first acquisition, 1958

a Dansette record player in green vinyl, that I carted all over the world :-D

The first single I bought, with my pocket money, was "What Do You Want To Make Those Eyes At Me For" by Emile Ford, in about 1959.

It was an embasst single from Woolworths. Mike Redway- The Last Time.

I had my first two new LPs for Christmas 1963:- Please Please Me and With The Beatles.

Oh how I wished I had looked after those two LPs!

Lord Rockingham`s X1 Hoots Man 1958 single ..Sound Track Album. Love Story 1970 still have them now .boxed up with my collection 45`s 78`s & LP`s :-)

45 1967 "See Emily Play" Pink Floyd Columbia 7/6
Didn't buy 45s before that cos I got them for free.

WTB sounds even more wonderful today than 50 years ago it is a full of life.

Schools out by Alice Cooper, think 1971 and lamplight by David Essex.

LP was a compilation album around 1973/74 Had rocket man, The in Crowd,Ku Fu Fighting etc but cant remember the exact name of it.

I still have all my 45's and LP's. many have colour covers still in tact.

I wonder if they are worth anything to a collector? Anybody know?
