You have £500.00 and you MUST buy yourself a Christmas gift. No sharing it with others, no donating it to charity or paying the bills.

This is purely to buy a present for you.

What would you buy?

EDITED for Graham....and you cannot sell on Ebay, pawn it, raffle it or make money on it in any way, shape or form :-)

£500? Stella - you might get a carpet if you're lucky! :-D

Probably a Notebook/Notepad or similar. Mind you, OH would end up using it as well.

added - or towards a minor cosmetic proceedure. The GP agrees it need to be done but it isn't covered by the NHS.

bit stingy
:-|

do you really have to imagine having £ 500 ? Surely not.
Or do you mean £ 500 mad money like a win at the races ?

Well first pref would be to phone round and go out for a meal with friends for some top nosh ... but as it has to be selfish I'd go for case of vintage wine.

Graham Report 3 Dec 2014 12:02

hahaha i read it as £5000... never mind i can still dream.

There is a particular kind of antique gold ring i would love to own, it is called a "Regard" ring because the initials of the gemstones are:

Ruby
Emerald
Garnet
Amethyst
Ruby
Diamond

i am saving up .. there are modern ones but i would love an old antique one.

Stella, possibly quite a nice tent. This is five hundred pounds we are talking about. Please pay attention or you will have to sit on the naughty step. Lol :-D

Detective, I think it'd OK for OH to share as you did actually buy it for you.

Graham

Graham Report 3 Dec 2014 12:06

Even 5 thousand would be a very cheap house ;-)

Tenerife Sun Report 3 Dec 2014 12:07

Graham trust you to get round the original question, now I will have to edit the OP :-(

Stella you replied before my post, sorry, the ring sounds lovely.

Rollo, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, now come on what would you buy?

EDIT... Ah Rollo I see you have added to your 12.02 post. Vintage wine, lovely but how long would it last if you're not sharingit, quite a while I hope :-)

Stella - love the idea of a ring, but apart from my engagement and wedding rings, I'd never wear it :-(

Stella would buy a calculator with big buttons or maybe an abacus.
With the balance she could get her ring quite easily for under £ 480.
;-)

Tenerife Sun Report 3 Dec 2014 12:17

Good for you Sharron and I'm sure you would put it to good use.

Rollo is obviously still deliberating on the best value for money or this brand versus that brand, features and benefits etc

Tenerife Sun

Tenerife Sun Report 3 Dec 2014 12:31

Mistycat, that sounds wonderful and SO luxurious but you would have to get there at your own expense. I often dream, as you say it doesn't hurt and sometimes makes me feel better.

Mersey, sadly the word IMAGINE plays a big part in the opening post but if it was for real you would get your iPhone 6 just for saying please :-D
