Sharron Report 27 May 2015 10:55

I am, again, trying to get my mediaeval stuff written up.

Somewhere on Word there are diphthongs, I know there are because I found them once. Now I need to use one I can't find them.

Come on, who knows?

Look Insert Symbol it opens up in all of them and scroll through to find what you want.

Sharron

Sharron Report 27 May 2015 11:20

I did, I did.

Thank you Pat.

Now I have used it the font size has changed and I can't get it back to where I had it but I can live with that.

Damned new fangled contraptions. I have never had this much bother with my pencil.

Island Report 27 May 2015 11:28

Can you tell me where to turn off 'invisible font' please

Sharron

Sharron Report 27 May 2015 11:38

OOps, I think I might have landed Pat with a new and unwanted role in life.

Sorry.

Island Report 27 May 2015 11:48

I'm not getting Pats route.

Sharron Report 27 May 2015 11:52

I take it you are ignoring me, for reasons known only to yourself, Sharron. I was only trying to help.

Sharron

Sharron Report 27 May 2015 12:18

Sorry Island. I am totally inept at anything regarding computers and I thought you were asking a different, quite legitimate, question of Pat.

Also, you will see that your reply and mine had been posted at exactly the same time. I had not read your reply when I posted but thank you for your help anyway.

I didn't I know what Character Map meant anyway.

Totally inept, not just a bit.

Sharron, there is an invisible font and you have to know where it is and what problem it is causing.

looking at various descriptions of Dipthong. it implies it is a sound rather than a symbol...........

What does YOUR dipthong look like?

curious,

outer cambridgeshire

Sharron

Sharron Report 28 May 2015 11:44

It is a capital A with the three horizontal strokes of a capital E eminating from the right down stroke.

Can you picture that? It is the first letter of the name of a Saxon King.

Bobtanian

Bobtanian Report 28 May 2015 11:49

Yes think so,

summat like the way AEsop? is written........sometimes.......?

Bobtanian

Bobtanian Report 28 May 2015 11:50
