If you did it on line, then print the acceptance out and keep that in the car anyway. You could perhaps laminate the vital bits and stick it on the windscreen anyway! |

The French abolished car tax and tax disks over 10 years ago. The tax was replaced by a few cents per litre on petrol administrative cost nil fines nil. Simples but too difficult for Osbourne. |

The mobility scheme giving free cars or cash is one of the things over which the axe is hovering. However given DC preference for the over 65s rather than families and kids this unfair and expensive scheme will probably endure. There is a draft regulation to tax it for higher rate payers but (a) most higher rate payers who qualify don't claim anyway (b) yield low for anything except total cancellation. It is a turkey for whom Christmas will come but not just yet. |

Rollo my dad couldn't have a car as he was over 65 when his legs stopped working. As a result, I had to keep a car on the road which had a boot big enough to accommodate his wheelchair. I paid an exorbitant amount of car tax as the vehicle was old but it was all worth it to be able to give dad his trips out. |

Elizabeth2469049 no I don't watch police interceptors. My daughter was driving her boyfriends car a couple of weeks ago when the police car behind her flagged her down. She was told there was no tax on the car. She was fined a hundred pound. Her boyfriend still has not lived it down. He had totally forgotten and was only late by 2 weeks. He went and taxed it straightaway. |

Never mind a tax disc holder, I could do with a parking ticket holder. Last week we had a merry few minutes playing "chase the ticket" on Lindisfarne. The wind was blowing a right hooly and the ticket was of the non-stick variety. Every time I put it on the dashboard, before I had shut the door it had disappeared. Under the seat, in the back, everywhere. It gave us all a laugh though. |

Rollo Dad didn't get the higher rate mobility as his legs seized up AFTER his 65th birthday therefore car tax remained payable. |

Have never found a car park where disbled blu badge holders park for free! You mat be lucky and get a disabled bay near to the shop etc., but where I live younstill have to pay for the privilege. The only places I do not have to pay are the large supermaket car parks. |

Where i live all the council car parks are free to blue badge holders, whether you are in a disabled bay or not; and of course you can park on double yellow lines as long as you are not causing an obstruction. |
