**Stella ~by~ Starlight**★..★..★ Report 6 Aug 2015 12:14

well i read it this morning and so i thought i would add it to the thread..

Saville had friends in very high places, even the government of the day, and many a blind eye was turned to the goings on.

Sharron

Sharron Report 6 Aug 2015 12:17

So Jaconelli and Savile were in it together. How odd that everybody knows about Savile and this is the first I have ever heard of the other one.

Stella you are absolutely spot on with that statement.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 6 Aug 2015 12:27

there was a picture in the paper yesterday of Heath with Saville

It was fine for you to add, Stella, not criticising you. I'm criticising the press. They should tread more carefully.

Edward Heath: shaking hands with dead paedos in Savile and Jaconelli’s Scarborough

Anorak · 3 minutes ago

Edward Heath was a peado! Well, maybe. The Sun continues to fan the speculation that former Prime Minister Edward Heath (dead) might have had sex with a 12…

AnnCardiff Report 6 Aug 2015 12:29

The leader of North Yorkshire County Council Leader has issued a statement to the victims of the former mayor of Scarborough, Peter Jaconelli, and their families.

The prolific sex offender and friend and Jimmy Saville could have faced child abuse charges if they had been investigated before his death in 1999.

?

I have every sympathy with all those affected by abuse. I extend my deepest sympathies to adults who were the victims of abuse in their childhood and I admire their courage and determination in ensuring that historic allegations are not simply swept under the carpet but are highlighted and investigated. I am sorry for the hurt that has been caused to the victims, survivors and their families.

I am aware of the statements made by the police concerning Peter Jaconelli and that they have received details of a number of alleged offences over a period of years. Whilst he is not alive today to face the full force of the legal process, I regret if there is evidence to show that he was not a fit and proper person to be a County Councillor.

We regret the impact on all those affected and can assure them that should they still want to make any disclosures, support will be provided to them and they will be listened to seriously and with sympathy.

– Carl Les, North Yorkshire County Council Leader

To be honest I am sick to the back teeth of reading apologies by authorities who failed in their duty of care to innocent children.

So am i , and i still think it should not be swept under the carpet as many people think it ought to be.

Feelings run high, especially here in Yorkshire where these paedos were operating from Saville's flat in Scarborough.

Sharron

Sharron Report 6 Aug 2015 12:46

Kid's Company was helping children who might have been in a situation similar to them.

It has occurred to me that the woman running it (not going to even try to spell her name) might have been manipulated into her current position.

magpie Report 6 Aug 2015 13:10

I would be surprised if that particularly savvy articulate well educated lady would ever have been manipulated! But again until the full facts are known it is not for anyone to speculate. As for newspaper sales, I beg to differ, and can't help but feel that a potential scandal is going to do more for sales than an in depth account of 'Yesterday in Parliament'!!

She is savvy and articulate but she is a psychologist and not an accountant.

Nobody can be able in all areas and it doesn't take too much probing to find the weakness in anybody and work on it to undermine them, especially if they are threatening your own power.

To clarify that this isn't a new allegation please read this snippet re Jersey:

Since the announcement – made by a Wiltshire officer outside Heath’s former home near Salisbury – the Hampshire, Kent and Jersey forces have also said they are investigating allegations of abuse by Heath.

Kent police said they had received an allegation on Tuesday relating to an allegation of sexual assault in the east Kent area in the 1960s and detectives were making initial inquiries. Hampshire police confirmed they were investigating allegations of abuse relating to Heath, and the Jersey force confirmed he had been a suspect for months in its investigation into historical abuse on the island.

I do hope there are a few members of the ever decreasing 'blue line' still available to undertake regular more mundane policing for which we should be eternally grateful.

Saville was investigated after his death & although it didn't affect him one jot, But It brought some peace to the victims & it opened up lots of other cases bringing others to justice in the cases wake. It signalled closure for many of the victims who may have not been believed first time round..

If Ted Heath was innocent this will come out, if not for some there will be a sense of closure arbeit tinged with some anger that he got away with it.

There may also be people once associated with Ted Heath who could be carping themselves atm.

AnnCardiff

if Janner is fit enough to attend the House of Lords he should have no trouble at all attending court - will be interesting to see what happens
