must go again soon as I gave them one of the sticks my Dad carved - very unusual and they were pleased to have it, so I need to see if it's on display

always take visitors there as there is always something new to see - Wales in a nutshell I call it

ie, clean, assess, put back or throw out because we have too many or it is no longer in good condition.


Not only did that happen with some items given to a local museum by a family relative, but my daughter was once hired as said intern in a museum here

well they thought long and hard about taking Dad's stick - they'd never seen one with such lovely carving and after about a year after I asked them if they'd take it, they contacted me saying they'd love to have it - if I didn't give it to them, what would have happened to it when I've popped my clogs - I'd rather it was there

That is what I am sure happened with the parasols donated to an English local museum.

Certainly my daughter was dealing with some artifacts that had been in storage for well over 50 years. If they were of anthropological / archaelogical / great local significance, then they had to be kept as long as they were still in reasonable or restorable shape.

If the item was #60 of a range of identical items and did not have special significance, then the difficult decision had to be made.

I can see that they don't have unlimited storage, so it makes sense after so many years.

I watched and enjoyed it. It seemed a fair presentation of an inner city school and the highs and lows.
