SylviaInCanada Report 18 Aug 2015 18:29

I posted this on Genealogy Chat almost 2 hours ago, had 16 lookies, no replies :-)

I just wonder whether anyone on here has any ideas, comments, or ????

---------
I had 3 posts RR'd on the weekend of August 8/9

One was reinstated, 2 were removed on Tuesday August 11

This weekend I had 1 post RR'd, and it was removed today

I have received NO communications from GR to tell me why any of those posts were RR'd

Therefore I have no idea what I said that was wrong or considered wrong by 1 person

I'm just interested ............... has anyone received any such communication for RR'd posts in recent weeks / months??

Or is this another example of GR failing to produce?

Never mind the fact that it is apparently taking them 2 days into the work week before acting ......... that has been standard for several months. That fact may beg the question, does anyone work in the office on Mondays?

Haven't had any RRs for several years. You might indeed get more response on here!

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 18 Aug 2015 18:38

hope so :-D

it just seems incredible that a) they are taking 2 work days to make decisions, and b) they cannot make the effort to let one know why a post was RR'd

The fact that I didn't think I had said anything wrong in any case is almost beside the point! I would like to know why someone thought it was wrong.

It also years since I had a posted reported, in fact it was so long ago that it was before the post went into cyber land waiting for GR to look at it.

I have noticed that GR appear to have a rest on a Monday, perhaps this is due to the tremendous amount of work they do the rest of the week lol

I can't speak for the more recent RRs, but before my sub ran out in May there were a number of my posts reported and I received no notification from GR, I did check Spam but they didn't appear there either, as some GR messages do.

Nor did I get any official response to one or two I reported earlier in the year...except for a porn video that was posted on the FB page a few weeks back when someone's FB account had been hacked :-0

these posts were the first that I had had reported for several moons .........

but it sounds as if the no notification has been going for some time, from what RR says.

I guess they have no time to do anything else because they are so busy "discussing the direction that GR should take".

They told me about that back in April/May, and said they would have something to say "soon" :-D

Remember , some of them if not all also work on FMP... So maybe Mondays are FMP discussion days.

Sylvia, did you report your own thread on Genealogy as a test case? ;-)

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 18 Aug 2015 21:00

nope!!

some unnameable one did ......... I hope as a test to see how long that one would remain :-D

Ha ha ha!!!! :-D

It wasn't me. I reported one of my own posts recently, the 'reason' I gave was being puerile, to see what would happen - nothing!!
Not even an e-mail telling me off.

GR is an odd place these days........it's as though the lights are on, but no-one is at home. :-S

Why has this OP been reported?!! Nothing makes any sense on this forum any more!
When my sub comes up for renewal I'm not at all sure that I shall bother, also particularly as there is so such a wide discrepancy between subs!!!!!

How silly!

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 19 Aug 2015 10:50

strikes me that this has nothing to do with the content of the thread, rather it seems more personal - otherwise what on earth can the reason be?

on the rare occasion I have reported a posting, I have always said it was me and why, otherwise, what's the point?

Rambling

Rambling Report 19 Aug 2015 11:18

I can only conclude from the reporting of the OP that someone has it in for Sylvia. It was a perfectly reasonable question couched in perfectly reasonable terms.

magpie

magpie Report 19 Aug 2015 11:32

So why do GR accept this complaint?! Why don't they tell the R.Rer that their objection is spurious, and reinstate the OP?! Like someone said it's like the Marie Celeste, a working ship without a crew!!! Very strange indeed!!

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 19 Aug 2015 11:37

well they appear to be on a permanent go slow - would expect it to be reinstated once they manage to get round to looking at it

magpie

magpie Report 19 Aug 2015 12:00

Well, don't hold your breath it could prove fatal!!!!

Having finally read the OP
I think its unfair to slate GR
Considering the lack of money invested in this site

and the staff cuts

FGS they are doing their best :-( :-(
