Foggy :-D :-D :-D :-D
Only if I can find one that contains a Tenancy Handbook :-D

Fly,
She's only got 2 - and they smell? :-(
Thank goodness (for your health - and theirs!!) that she's not going to replace them.

A friend of mine has just agreed to move into a flat offered by her housing association. She has lived in her 3 bed house for years and has been told to dismantle the garden buildings ( sheds, greenhouse etc).

So just enjoy the dream of when your neighbours eventually move on and have to knock down all their hard work :-D :-D

why not move ?
or is ongoing aggravation a lifestyle choice ?

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 5 Dec 2015 17:01

Why should I move? I'd end up in a 1 bedroomed flat (at best), have to get rid of my cats and be unable to have my grandchildren over.
....and who mentioned 'ongoing aggravation'?
They tried bullying - it hasn't worked.

Perhaps they should learn:
a) the highway code and
b) try reading the tenants handbook.
Oh - and not to make stupid assumptions/suggestions - that, of course could apply to more than my neighbours :-D

Here lies the body of Micheal O'day
Who died maintaining his 'right of way'.
He was right, dead right, as he sailed along,
But he's just as dead as if he'd been wrong.

From that little ditty, then Rollo, I presume it is your self-esteemed belief that I, as you suggest, should move, despite being right in the word of the law?
Why would that be then?

maggiewinchester Report 5 Dec 2015 18:42

Interesting map, Rollo, but MUCH more crime there, compared to where I live

So it's your belief, that if one is in a crime ridden area, or is surrounded by anti-social bigots, one should move??
Why? Shouldn't the neighbourhood attempt to educate/shame the wrong-doers, or get THEM removed?
Please explain your reasoning behind the offenders staying where they are, and the victims being forced to move?
Do you also believe in locking the innocent up for their own safety?

Caroline Report 5 Dec 2015 19:59

Maggiewinchester I totally agree with you. I have really crappy neighbours on one side of me...why should you be forced out of your home ?
In my case I own my home but they rent next door so they can live where ever they want. They don't need the area for anything like work (self employed handy man/jack of all trades) and no school age kids.
They build numerous buildings/shelters etc without a permit in sight. Make lots of noise and mess. They too can't talk to each other but have to yell literally.
No neighbours from hell should be made to move to the same street and leave the innocent people to their peace and quiet !!!

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 5 Dec 2015 21:56

Agree, Caroline :-D

There was a case quite a few years back, where 'neighbours from hell' were moved from a housing estate near the New Forest, and placed together in council houses in the middle of nowhere (but on a bus route).
Driving along, you climb a hill, and there, on top are half a dozen houses, each with an old dilapidated car in the front garden!! :-D
They obviously don't see how they've created a perfect stereotype!!

Caroline Report 8 Dec 2015 01:51

Yep we had that for a while too...a rusty old broken down van on their front lawn !!

I think that Rusty Old Van won the Turner Prize.

Bob :-D :-D :-D

I think a few overgrown leylandii are much better than a rusty Ford Cortina in the garden :-D

Mind you, a lot of animals/insect life could live in a Cortina ;-)
