Don't know if this helps - but when I had to replace Word (deleted for former owner's privacy) with Open Office in Windows 7 I was provided with access via Microsoft Word Viewer. It only gives access to read, you can't edit it - but I was able to copy and paste several vital reference papers |

If you own a valid copy of Office (including Word) then of course you can use it |

I've been wondering what all the fuss was about with Windows 10 as I've found very little difference from the Windows 7 we had on one computer and the Windows 8 on the other. Slightly different layout but everything works exactly the same and I can access everything I could before. |

No probs at all here on both my desktop and OH's laptop. Installed in August and the only tweek we had to make was to change the date format which defaulted to the US version. |

MS Office 2013 is reportedly compatible with Windows 10. |

I wonder if there was a glitch when it downloaded? Seems odd that Word docs defaulted to Wordpad |

I haven't upgraded yet as i do like W7. My OH has and he gets annoyed at having to put his password in every time he goes to use the PC, He also runs Vista on the same machine. |

I know with earlier builds of W10 there were issues with default programmes and file associations but this is easy enough to change... |
