When did your Alexander die Emma?.....there is a piece in the Aberdeen Journal 1910 about an Alexander Nerrlie who was badly bitten by a dog and they weren't sure how it would pan out.

That sounds familiar Susan but can't get into
my Laptop at the moment.

There were a few Alexander's in the Nerrlie side,
think he died 1904 at his son Alexander's house.

Susan, that's a very generous offer.

Please could you see if this puzzle can be solved. On the basic search I have found my parents, Francis V and Winifred M Murtagh and my grandparents William and Ann Humphreys, correctly spelt and shown as 2 separate households.

My parents had a self-contained flat on the ground floor and my grandparents the rest of the house at 28, Romilly Road, Barry, Glamorgan. I know this is correct because it is on my pre-1939 birth certificate and after we moved we used to spend our holidays there until I was in my teens.

I have put Romilly Road into the basic address search and neither of the names is listed. I am very intrigued by this and will be very grateful if you can solve it. :-)

Susan10146857 Report 8 Mar 2016 19:46

It's because they are at

' 28 Gone away' lol....whoever transcribed it has just written that

PMd you

Andysmum

Andysmum Report 8 Mar 2016 22:19

I thought it might be a transcription error, but this is ridiculous! :-) :-)

The actual family who have gone away are several houses further up the road and the ditto marks refer to the road name at the top of the page!!

At least they are living where I expected them to be - thank you very much for your trouble.
