Anyone else watch it? I do like Penelope Wilton. Makes a change to have something different to watch.
Anyone admit to going to Anne Summers parties in the 1980s? :-D

Morning Ann and David :-D

I have just been chatting to a friend about the show. No I never ever went to a party back in the day when they were happening everywhere. I did enjoy it and it made me LOL.
Really good acting and the pink nightwear really did do the trick for the butcher ha ha!!

:-D :-D

I thought it was thoroughly entertaining and I shall be watching it next week. Penelope Wilton can really convey feelings through her expressions.

Great stuff! :-D

Just Tupperware parties where we lived back then, but the programme was easy watching with quite a few story lines emerging. Looking forward to the next episode. Funny!

I have to admit to going to two or three in the 80s in the Letchworth area. And the reaction was very true to life, first shock, then hilarity. Yes, very entertaining.

David, No not that one. that was Brief Encounter (without the s). And the content was a little different :-D

Recorded it and enjoyed watching it later last evening, I will definitely watch more.

I have been to the A.S parties in the past, always a giggle and a good way for we girls to unwind.

I thought it very entertaining

I loved the old dear sitting in the chair playing with the Stallion & her sons reaction

Never went to the parties - but will confess to visiting the local shop a few times years ago for hen parties in the late 80's - it was always done in good taste then.

I hope it will continue to be good .

I had the film starring Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard on a DVD B&W

David, I don't think people are talking about the film you're mentioning!! It's so old I doubt they've ever heard of it!

David, I thought it was only made in black and white. Loved the film but not quite the same as the series on TV. Mind you if they put it on TV again (your version) I would probably watch it, great film.

Sorry, I thought we were talking about that one

Not a problem at all David, and easy mistake to make as the titles are so similar.

I watched it yesterday on catch up and I enjoyed it. I must remember to watch it next week. I have been to several Tupperware parties and I actually was an agent for Pippa Dee when my children were small giving parties in other people's home. I main reason for doing it was the money.

I had a Pippa Dee party, probably still have the petticoat I bought somewhere lol I went to many Tupperware parties, and have lots of the goods still in the cupboard.

Did anyone ever have Trumps jewellery parties in the early 80s? I was a rep before and after my son's birth in 1982, nice gold rings, earrings, chains etc as well as silver and titanium stuff.

Another sales pyramid that was active in
the eighties was Herbalife.
Some people became wealthy doing it.
