ann

ann Report 9 Jul 2016 16:29

another Ann. I went to one in the 80s not really wanting anything. I got into the swing of it and was talked into buying something. not saying what it was but my husband wanted to know what was wrong with him so I told him it was for when he had a headache

ann :-D :-D :-D :-D

Not heard of Trumps jewellery parties Liz. when Pipadee was popular I had a few parties (also tupperware), then I became a rep for Hostique which was another lingerie party plan outfit. didn't make a lot of money but it got me out of the house when I had two young children, and it was fun. the clothes were much like pipadee. I gave up because I found it hard to persuade young mums with not much money to spend it on stuff they didn't need.

I went to an Ann Summers party with my daughter in about 1999, and I was aghast at what she bought! :-0 :-D :-D ;-)

No, I didn't buy anything, but we did have fun!

A bit different tonight still liked it, I suppose they can't keep having parties. Loved the way he rolled under the rug :-D skinny isn't he, she would nake three or maybe four of him.

It was interesting this evening to see how many ways the families developed and intertwined.

Trumps was based in Rickmansworth, with agents all over the country. I enjoyed doing the parties and meeting new people, and of course, earning some extra money. I won a few awards and prize gifts too and when I was at home with a baby, it was a bit of a social life too. It was gold, silver and titanium.

Have to admit I didn't enjoy this week - as much as I did the first one -

My OH recognised Jesse from Holby - didn't realise it was him - not seen him with hair before.

i did enjoy the rolling under the rug bit - very clever.

Think there is more to Dame Penelope's character, i think there is a very sad story there.

I think there is a shadow of "In the Club" hovering - with the robbers & people getting run over & people going off with best friends partners .

Any comments on this weeks episode

'Emma' Report 20 Jul 2016 13:40

I enjoyed the first episode but have not been keen
after that.
Will keep watching incase it picks up.

AnninGlos Report 20 Jul 2016 16:30

It somehow seems to have joined soapland. There was a flash of humour like the first episode when she did the party, but otherwise nothing out of the ordinary.

Tabitha

Tabitha Report 21 Jul 2016 13:37

I agree - its sort of moved on to a "Just for women show" my OH was very disappointed he thought it was going have more humor.

i did like her face when she did the party on her own - thought it was very realistic - shows what a good actress she is. Reminded me of her comedy days, shame she doesn't do more. It was the best bit of humor in the show so far.

Can believe she is the same one that was in Ever decreasing circles all those years ago - i loved it when they were both together in Downton again (her & Peter Egan)

Used to love ever decreasin circles, Peter Egan was so funny.

Tabitha Report 27 Jul 2016 13:21

Anyone have any thoughts on this weeks show.

i for one thought it had got better - but it was very predictable - my OH & I guested at least 3 things that were about to happen - but was caught out at the end

I am not saying any more in case you haven't seen it yet

Looking forward to next week

Is it me or did they change the theme tune on this weeks show ?

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 27 Jul 2016 14:31

I didn't notice the theme tune but I enjoyed it this week. One day that poor little butchers lad will be smothered!!

Tabitha

Tabitha Report 28 Jul 2016 13:08

I was very cross with Penelope Wilton on Monday - certainly not what i thought she would do

I do think some of the story lines are very predictable

i did like it when she kicked the lad out of bed

Tabitha

Tabitha Report 2 Aug 2016 14:00

Oh dear its all crumbling down

Some very good one liners - a lot of oh my goodness now what are they going to throw at them & i cant believe xx is that stupid.

Wonder if next week will clear it all up or just end up in confusion, pending a 2nd series.

'Emma' Report 2 Aug 2016 14:37

Have stuck with this series but have not enjoyed it
like the first episode.
Predictable as you say, as is the soaps that are being
shown at the moment.
Will not be watching the next series.

I've enjoyed this series but was sad when wots' ername was so cruel to Jonny, the policeman.
Don't you just want to shake some people lol?

Tabitha Report 3 Aug 2016 13:23

i certainly do - both the girl (from Bletchly circle) & Penelope Wilton.

Felt like banging a few head together too.

Loved the bit in the loo where the bride said to the thin girl if she wasn't married she would have gone for her - that was a very good one liner.

Be interesting to see what happens next week

Tabitha Report 8 Aug 2016 13:12

Last one tonight - there is a possibility of series 2

Steph is planning her local Ann Summers night – a women-only fashion show, with rude games and the promise of a male model

Anyone want to guess who the male model may be - or who you would want it to be.
