Is it time to remind Genes about the Poppy? I've already seen it appearing on some websites.

I would hope it will start latest Monday for at least 2 weeks.

I thought that poppies should be worn from 1st November until either 11th November or the Sunday after that (depending on when Remembrance Day is celebrated).

Hopefully Genes will have the poppy showing by Tuesday at the latest - although I wouldn't hold my breath!

Expect nothing of GR then you won't be disappointed.

If we start to remind them now, they might get it in place by 11 Nov. TBH, we should have started earlier as the normal excuse is 'planning'.

Had a quick reply from Support.
"Yes this has been requested again for this year." :-)

Dear All

We have requested that the Poppy is added to the site again this year.

Thanks

last year they put it on very very late, so not holding out much hope for it being put up soon.

We had been told a few years ago that the poppy symbol would always be on the site without it having to be requested.

FMP now have a very discreet ( i.e. small) Poppy on it's home page.

Such a shame!

Yes - it is disappointing.
As FMP has been having problems recently, one excuse could be that the IT bods were dealing with that.

Why expect anything of GR anymore?

Do your own and put them to shame.

I think we really need Phil back on the GR team
He kept on top of things :-D :-D

That would be nice, Joy. Unfortunately for us, he left.

In November 1916 troops from both sides were dying at Verdun & The Somme.

Well it's 1 week tomorrow to the 11th and where is the poppy?

I had relatives, I found researching my family tree, who died in WW1. There are 17 so far and their ages - from 18 to early 30s.

As an ex HM Forces myself I am not happy, to say the least, that GR can't be bothered to put up a poppy. This is an annual event so should not have taken them by surprise. If they don't put up a poppy I shall seriously consider my options next year.

If our football players can defy FIFA I feel I should take action. Remember what is said at this time GR.

WE WILL REMEMBER
